Circles of Giving Program

Circles of Giving

The Talmud teaches:
"The giving of tzedakah equals in importance all the other commandments combined."

Recognizing that membership dues do not completely cover the cost of running the synagogue, many years ago Temple Chaverim launched the CIRCLE OF GIVING campaign for voluntary commitments from congregants to increase their annual giving by a fixed amount. Donations to the CIRCLES ensures that our community can continue to grow and thrive educationally, spiritually, socially as well as support our scholarship program, allowing each and every family to continue their membership, despite harsh economic times and personal struggle. After all, this is what we do for each other.

We are particularly grateful to our donor families, especially to those who renew their support year after year, and we offer a variety of price points to enter the Circles Program as well as opportunities for recognition of our donors. Call or email Karen Bressner at 516.692.0681 if you are interested in learning more about the CIRCLE OF HONOR (dues + $500 or above), CIRCLE OF DISTINCTION (dues + $1000 or above) or CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE (dues + $1500 or above).

New! We are proud and pleased to announce our newest level -- the CIRCLE OF LIGHT -- depicted as the seven flames of our CIRCLES display plaque (above). This unique opportunity is available to seven families each year who are able to commit $5000 or more above their basic dues.
