Welcome to Temple Chaverim's website. What a start to the year it’s been! We have welcomed to our community Rabbi Simon, who has brought a fresh and invigorating aspect to our services. Our temple was filled with families for our High Holiday services. We then celebrated Simchat Torah – concluding and then restarting the reading of the Torah, and that was just through September! There will be many more holidays to celebrate, programs to participate in and events to attend in the coming months.
Rosemary Nucci, our office Administrative Assistant for over sixteen years, retired at the end of September. A dedicated staff member, she worked tirelessly to make sure all was right with members’ issues, requests, and many important office details. She met every question, complaint and accolade with a smile, doing her best to make sure our members and lay leaders were satisfied with the outcome of their query. We will miss Rosemary, and wish her the very best in her retirement. We now would like to welcome Susan Hodara, whom Rosemary has been grooming for some time. We have every confidence Susan will be a great addition as we welcome her to our community.
As I said in my Yom Kippur speech, Temple Chaverim is rock solid, with a strong clergy and congregation. We are excited for the year ahead as we search and then hire our next settled senior rabbi. The search committee is hard at work, and I will provide updates as needed to keep you all apprised of its progress. We will be hosting town hall meetings in the near future for all who would like to discuss what’s on your mind about Temple Chaverim. The Board of Trustees and I look forward to meeting with you and listening to your thoughts and ideas.
Wow, that was quite a bit so far this year! Stay tuned for what’s to come…
Shalom, Russell Willens, President
