In Celebration of a Gem
Welcome from the President
Who and What we are...
As President of Temple Chaverim, I often think about the meaning behind our mission statement: “Temple Chaverim is a dynamic Reform Jewish congregation dedicated to providing a welcoming, comfortable environment for the religious, educational and communal needs of our congregants. Temple Chaverim fosters a deeper connection to God, our heritage, Israel and a cohesive community of Chaverim, friends.”
Never has this been more important than now. Our synagogue is so much more than Religious School and B’nei Mitzvahs. In these uncertain political times, it is imperative that we have a place where like-minded people can congregate, learn, discuss and have quiet moments to reflect. Our wonderful Temple serves as the calm in the storm.
We truly are a Temple of Chaverim. All you need to do is walk through the doors on a Friday evening to immediately feel the warmth emanating from our congregants and clergy. Our wonderful clergy with their warmth and insight can help us understand and frame today’s many complex and often conflicting issues.
Please join us for Friday evening services or at one of our many adult education programs. We live in such a “connected world” that it is often difficult to find a place to turn off our cell phones or computers and just contemplate what is going on. Meanwhile, our wonderful Temple is the perfect place to do just that.
Shalom,
Gary Schreiber
