Our Sister Congregation in Israel - Darchei Noam

Darchei Noam is a Reform congregation serving the towns of Ramat HaSharon and Herzliya as well as the northern neighborhoods of Tel-Aviv. Darchei Noam is affiliated with the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism and the World Union for Progressive Judaism.

A few years ago, Temple Chaverim adopted Congregation Darchei Noam as its sister congregation in Israel and has continued to support it both financially and programmatically over the years. Additionally, on each of Temple Chaverim's congregational trips to Israel, we have visited with our friends at Darchei Noam and shared Shabbat celebrations, meals and experiences together.

Cemetery Grounds owned by Temple Chaverim

In 2008, the sole surviving member of the First Alexandrier Independent Association, Mel Taber (zichrono l'vracha) embraced Temple Chaverim in a cooperative effort to ensure the future of the Association and the perpetuation of its cemetery grounds at Wellwood Cemetery (Pinelawn) and Old Montefiore Cemetery (Queens).

A new Board of Directors was established to allow members of Temple Chaverim to purchase gravesites for themselves and their immediate family members.

The Board has created a beautiful and informative brochure which we invite you to open and read.
