Message From Rabbi Hecht |
Dear Friend, The synagogue is the center of Jewish life in America. Temple Chaverim is a center for Reform Jewish life in our community. We offer something very different from many congregations on Long Island. We have worked hard to create an atmosphere, which is at the same time, cordial and caring, hamish and open, modern and rooted in the traditions of Judaism. As a member congregation of the Union for Reform Judaism, we take seriously the vision of Reform Judaism: to offer a varied program of Jewish life to the Jews of our community, to prepare our children for the future, and to meet the spiritual needs of our members. We have grown from fifteen families to a congregation of over 500 family units. Our beautiful Synagogue building, coupled with its one hundred year old ark, provides a perfect setting for worship, learning and community building. I invite you to become a part of Temple Chaverim. Join us in the excitement as we strive to become one of the best synagogues on Long Island. And, don't forget to follow me on my blog - http://tcdancingrabbi.blogspot.com/. You can either sign up to be a regular "follower" or just pop in for a spontaneous update whenever you like! B'Shalom, Jonathan L. Hecht, Ph.D |
